Killdeer
Plover Family
Killdeer frequent open areas and are right at home in suburban areas.
Although they especially like mudflats and sandbars, Killdeer do well in human-modified habitats such as athletic fields, airports, golf courses, graveled or broken-asphalt parking lots, and graveled rooftops.
They eat
earthworms, grasshoppers, beetles, and snails.
