Speckled Sharpshooter Overwinter as adults, sheltering in leaf litter in wooded areas. In the spring, they move to more open areas and lay eggs in woody twigs and the petioles of a variety of plants. A wasp, Gonatocerus fasciatus, sometimes parasitizes the eggs.
