Wingspan: 35-47 mm

Flight period: March to November in the south; April to October in the north

Habitat: Gardens, fields, meadows, waste places; adults are nocturnal, attracted to light

Caterpillar host plants: Many species including alfalfa, corn and other grains, grasses, vegetables, leaves of fruit trees and ornamentals
