Northern Virginia Wildlife Online Resource
To help highlight the diversity of wildlife that still frequents Northern Virginia habitats – and to help narrow the search for cool critters close to home – we've created an online resource for Northern Virginia wildlife. We need help completing brief write ups for wildlife found in Northern Virginia especially bird species. No previous knowledge required, you can complete the write ups by using print and online resources describing characteristics and cool facts about each species.

4th of July Nokesville Butterfly Count
Participate in the first annual Nokesville Butterfly Count. This one-day survey is part of the North American Butterfly Association ongoing program to census the butterflies of North America and publish the results. You don't have to be a butterfly expert birder to participate in the count. More eyes help spot more butterflies and the 4th of July Count is an exciting opportunity for beginning naturalists to connect with others and learn more about both butterflies and important habitats.
